Default 2001 V70 Wagon Rearview Mirror

I replaced the mirror with a used one I purchased online but now my door remote & door lock controls on the inside door (driver & passenger) don't work and the main cabin lights stay on. When I press the button they turn off for a couple seconds then back on.
What did I do? I've checked the fuses.

The UEM is programmed to the VIN number of the car it was in. You can't "reprogram" it.

The UEM (upper electronic module) is glued to the back of the mirror. Simple fix. Take both mirrors apart, use a wall paper knife (the kind that sections break off as they dull, because it's a long razor knife) and carefully slice the uem off both mirror glass. Use a solder gun to disconnect the 2 leads to the mirror. Glue your old UEM onto the new used glass and reassemble. Practice taking the old one apart first - to learn how to get it apart without breaking any plastic.

If it were a NEW mirror you could use VIDA to download a program into the NEW mirror to make it work. (for a few hundred dollars at your local dealer)

Thank you for the information

To the best of my knowledge - NO only a new UEM can be programmed using VIDA. It might be possible that an aftermarket source such as xemodex could "reprogram" your used uem to your VIN. Call them and see

Thank you, Xemodex needs the original mirror for cloning. I'll keep hunting.
