New to forum. New to Volvo
Car new to me- Dome light stays on until door is locked from outside.

Am I simply missing something?
If there is a switch that is set incorrectly, that would be great.
If there is a fix, please let me know.

If there is not an answer, can I pull a fuse or remove dome light bulbs for now?

I know I will forget to lock door and end up with a dead battery.

I see that a large percentage of posts have no replies, so I thought I would add what I have found.

If I push and hold the dome light button for 3-4 seconds, it stays off (Owner's manual) At least someone could have mentioned this temporary fix to a new guy to both Volvos and this forum..

The door edge lights still do not turn off when door is closed- unless the door is closed with some force.

It seems that the correct fix is replacing the door locking mechanism. There is at least one (non replaceable) micro switch in the door locking unit that is probably bad.
