How many years until you replaced the battery in your S60?

 

most batteries last about 5 years but may vary from 4 to 6 based on your location (ie cold winters wear on a battery), driving conditions etc. Your car probably has a standard size 48 which is pretty common so you can find models with warranties anywhere from 3 to 7 years.

most modern cars really put some stress on their batteries and the electronics on Volvos do their fair share.

I replace mine right at the 36 month mark on all my cars. I may spend a few bucks unnecessarily but that beats the damn thing going south on me when I'm in a hurry, my wife is driving it, and so on. Think of it like gas - you don't wait to fill up until you run out, do you?

for what its worth, I replaced the OEM battery in my 2012 last month so that one lasted almost 6 years. when I noticed it was starting to crank slow on cold days, I just went onto Napa Online and got a Legend 7548 for $135 including CT sales tax.

 

I've had Volvo batteries in cars that we buy for resale that are original to the vehicle and ten years old! Same for Mercedes. The OEM battery is hard to beat.
