I am looking at a 2004 V-70R with 58,000 miles....

How does this engine stand up over the long term ?

What issues might I expect ?

Not at all familiar with that car, but it sure sounds like a cool car to me. Of the newer Volvos I like the S60R and the V70R. See plenty of S60's but not many V70R's.

 

Ohh....the 6speed. sweet those are harder to find.

Only thing is you need to watch out for the bevel gear.
My dad has hadd zero problems with his 07 V70R @ ~30,000miles, just need to get a code reader to check out way the light is on.

Also there is a metal barce thing at the bottom of the center of the car. I guess it is a saftey feature that is the exhaust falls it will catch it. Remove the 4 bolts and take it off. Some one went over a high drive way and did a lot of damage to the center shaft and exhaust......
