2004 Volvo C70, good first car?
JUst had some questions regarding this car. First and foremost the car caught my attention because i like how good volvos look. I was wondering if this would be a decent first car for a 20 year old. What are some usual problem concercing this modle? Should i not get a Volvo as a first car? How much will the maintenance cost? Feel free to add in more information besides answering these 3 questions.

is this a coupe or convertible. If convertible, expect some noise and check for any mechanical issues with the top. As far as the drivetrain and chassis goes, it shares many parts (and issues) with S60/S70s of that era, which is to say generally reliable with some problem areas like the ETM (electronic throttle mechanism) come to mind. Take a look at the S60 and S/V70 boards for some ideas. As with a 20 year old car, expect parts to wear out - particularly rubber chassis and suspension components, brakes, timing and serpentine belts, AC compressors may need reshimming, but for the most part if you have DIY repair skills, not too many things require help or special tools.
