Hello I just bought this used 2005 xc90 and the red triangle warning light comes on with no fault codes took it 2 different places to have it put on the scanner and no codes come up?? they tell me not to worry about it. Any clue what it could be I did put a new battery in couple weeks ago

 

The red triangle on its own doesn't mean anything. It comes on along with a message on the text display. What is that message?

I guess I'll have to investigate further but wouldn't a fault code came up on the scanner when they plugged in the tester

 

It depends on the message and scanner. For example, a low coolant light will give a red triangle and a warning in the text display but will not set a fault code. Or if there is a fault code but they are using a cheap scanner that can't communicate with all systems, they won't be able to read it.

 

Dealer told me to find the button on the directional lever press for reading I'll report back

 

so it was low coolant added the coolant and the red light went out
