I have a 2007 XC70 and I get a clunking noise from the front end only when the car is rolling very slowly forward or backward and does not seem to matter whether I am on smooth or rough surface. We are talking walking to fast pace walking.
At driving speed it is quiet, hitting bumps seems quiet. When I come to a stop just before I stop i get knock, knock,knock as i stop.
I lifted the front end and there is no play in the ball joints. Left and right seems nice and tight. Front bushing's were done 10,000 miles ago. Any ideas what to look for or to check would be great. More annoying than anything
