2011 XC90 3.2 burning oil smell under hard acceleration like getting on the highway
Hi Guys,
I have a 2011 XC90 with the 3.2 awd. car runs good but when you go to get on the high way or accelerate hard I get an oil burning smell it lasts only for a 1 or less then its gone.
It is driving my wife crazy and i would love to fix it for her.
Any suggestions to what this could be???
Thanks for the help

are you consuming oil or just dealing with a smell? How's the fuel economy? You don't mention mileage so I'm wondering if the cat converter or O2 sensors are on their way out and your fuel trim is a bit rich etc. Any signs of leaks/spotting etc which can find its way onto the exhaust manifold etc?

Theres no oil leaks in the garage floor.
i have ordered new fuel filter. Volvo spark plugs . Air filter and oil fill cap gasket hoping one of these fix it.
add a cabin air filter to your list. If your PCV oil separator failed at some point allowing the oil in the blow-by to get into the intake, you may have some residual oil in the intake air plumbing that can be cleaned out.
so Oil could get on the cabin air filter? I dont understand how the 2 are related. what would a new filter do?
