The fan in vehicle will stop working from out of the blue and causing vehicle to overheat. I have to open the hood and unplug, then plug the fan power cord for fan to restart. Is there one aspect i should be looking in changing because i do not want this to cause more problems..

 

Since there is a coolant temperature sensor AND a fan controller involved I think a search for codes would help.

I've read where the controller can be opened but I wouldn't know what to look for.

This is a 2018 XC-90, yes?
