I currently own a 1990 740 Turbo. I love him! He is a solid car, his engin purrs. I am a woman that has fixed many things in the engine of this car. However, I have always been a fan of the 850's (and S70). I have been thinking about getting an 850. I have yet to drive one. This love has always been on looks alone (how shallow....I know). I know I would no longer be able to fix anything on an 850 if I got one.

Can anyone tell me what they love about their 850?

Anyone have/had a 700 series and have/had an 850? What were the differences? What did you like about each? Would you suggest an 850 over a 740?

 

I have had several Volvos over the years and one of them included an 850 GLT. I like different things about both engines. The 5 cyl. is faster and smoother than the 4 cyl. The 5 cyl can run just fine on regular fuel as opposed to the 4 cyl is "supposed" to be run on premium. The 850 is sportier too. You might look for and 850 R.
