Default bad power-lock solenoid?

hurray! my first post... hi all!
ok back to work... i have a 2000 C70 convertible with power locks...
the drivers side actuator does not seem to have any "power" (re:b*lls). it's not locking or unlocking it, it tries, but with no success.

do they burn out or just fade away?

i posted here 'cause i figure it prob the same parts on every Volvo

any help would be appreciated

Does it lock if you use the key in the other door? Does it work with the dash switch?

The lock assembly might be bad if you can hear it doing something.

is the actuator built-into the lock or can it be replaced?

You have to replace the entire latch assembly.
