Bad Vibrations
Hello:
I have a 1998 V70 AWD with 117,00 miles. I just had the drive shaft removed to send it out for rebuilding. The car is now a front wheel drive. After it was removed, I am getting a very nasty vibration when I hit 30 mph. This was not happening before it was removed. It seems to level off after 45 mph. I can't pin point the source of the vibration, but it seems to be under the drivers seat. It kind of feels like one of those vibrating message chairs. The entire car shakes. Any thoughts would be helpful before I take it back to the mechanic.
Thanks:
Rich

was it removed all the way up to the transfer case? Im going through a similar problem i loosened the driveshaft hanger bearing to tryand remove the shaft. When i put it back together the car shakes from 40-45mph someone told me that you have to make sure the hanger bearing which is in the middle of the two piece shaft is straight or it will be out of balance. Hope this helps.
