Hi everyone,

I am renting an S80 next week for 10 days from Hertz. Just wondering if Volvo has "build codes" like VW, which, when decoded, tell the owner (or in this case, driver) what exact options come with the car.

There is an iPhone app for decoding VW build codes, but have not found one for Volvo.

On most VWs, the build codes are printed out together and stuck near the spare tire. Wondering if they do exist on Volvos, where I would find them, and then of course, how to decode them on my rental. (This print out is also usually attached in the owner manual, in VWs.)

I am hoping to figure out if I have the lane-departure warning option, or any option, really. I have reviewed the ebrochures at Volvo USA, for the '11 and '10 models. Again, they come with options that I am unsure if my Hertz rental has some or any or none of them! I chose to rent the S80 over a Cadillac or Lincoln "luxury" class.

I posted this in the S80 forum, and with no answer, figured that it really is best here. Also, Hertz has a "prestige class" that guarantees me a late model S-80, but I am unsure what model year I'm getting.
