Default buy an 940 or 850?

Hello, I am new to the forum so let me tell you my story quick as it relates to my question.

I have owned 4 240's through the years and around 4 years ago I bought a 98 v70 awd xc. I loved the look and comfort and power with turbo etc...but it seems like I must stick much more money into it every year just to keep it running. My 240's never did this to me.I like the feel of the v70 better but I don't want to stick any more money into the v70 and now it needs a head gasket job. I don't do much of my own work on my cars and the shops want 1200 to 1800 to fix it now.

I have decided to get a different volvo now because I'm scared the awd will be the next thing to go out on my v70 the way things have been costing me on it.My v70 hasn't had the head gasket job done yet and I can't use it until it's fixed!

Would an 850 have as many problems as my v70? Should I just try to find a nice 940 and stop spending on my money on keeping a car running every year.I don't even put that many miles on my car and am tired of putting money into the v70. Any 850 wagon owners want to chime in?

I guess I'd look at how many miles I had on my v70 (useful life left), worst case costs, and what I could get for similar $$. I've had good luck with my xcawd and have 200k miles on it.

thanks, yes my v70 only has 147.000 and I sometimes feel like it's just a lemon,I'm sure other v70 owners haven't had the bad luck that I have had with mine.

But if the awd goes out and needs fixed after I pay to have the head gasket done I will really wish I never kept it and put the money into it.

I miss the old days of my 240's when I had years where I didnt put any money into them.

My friend has an 850 wagon and he is now getting the head gasket done on his so that scares me as far as getting an 850.

I'm not having much luck with finding a 940 wagon and just missed one by a few weeks on craigs close to me.

Anyone have a 940 wagon to sell me? lol
I'm on the east cost in pa.

I believe the 940 would require less maintenance.
