I want to pre-releasea 99'C70 convertible ROPS roll bars behind the rear seat headrests. Where is the sensoror how to trick the sensor?

 

There is 2 ways to do it.
1. A scanner that reads it.
2. Remove the plastic cover over the bar. You will see a release tab to release it. But put pressure on it before pushing the button.

Why do you want to release them?

 

Thanks for the advice. I thought the convertible might look more sporty if the roll bars were up. Maybe I have too much time on my hands??

Thanks for follow up. I did try holding down the bar down while I pushed the lever down wi a screwdriver. Nada. I was not able to hold the bar down for more than a nansecond because the spring is so firm. I held the lever down and pushed down on the bar repeadetly, nada. If I could find the sensor, I understand if it tilts a certain degree, the bars are relaesed. I should invest in a c70 repair manual to find the bloody sensor. Thanks again!

 

Yes they are under alot of tension. Also if they go off while driving they will scare the S*** out of you.
