Default ROPS reset?

So I slid off the road today and hit a retaining wall (ouch! ) Car seems fine (as am I, thanks for asking), but the ROPS popped up. First time occurrence for me. Is this something I can reset myself, or do I have to take it to a dealer, or will any competent mechanic be able to handle it?

btw, it's a 2004 C70 conv.

Thanks
G.

They just push down and lock back into place.

Thanks for responding.

Just push straight down? Hard to get any leverage in there with the top up. I'm nervous about trying to lower the top with those posts extended. Is it safe?

You should be able to lower it with them up.

Yes just push straight down.

The good news is that it wasn't the 2006-present model. On this model, if the ROPS triggers with the retractable hard-top roof up, it punches right through the rear window glass!

so this is an old thread but by now has anyone found a way to reset this light? i disconnected the battery to take out the cluster to change bulbs and now i get the rops light and the top will not go down. so how do you fix that? i will take it out for a drive today and see if that helps. one thing when i try to lower the top the back part goes up and that is it, so maybe something in the rops bars need attention like moving them or taking a rubber hammer to the bars to reset them and maybe the light will go out? any ideas here? there are so many problems with these car after this gets fixed it goes up for sale. i just don't need this aggravation anymore. thanks
