Default cam sensor

I have a 00 v7o xc se and I've replaced a dozen things on it at 134k and I'm not complaining at all but apparently I need to replace a dozen and 1 things. Does anyone have any info on replacing the cam sensor. I took it to volvo and that was the error code. It has intermittent rough starts but after it's running it runs great. I have the part ordered and I'd like to do it my self but it's my first one. Any tips, cautions or pics would be great. Thank you in advance

You will have to remove the upper torque mount and the bracket on the back of the head to get to the cam sensor.

Thanks for the info! The dealer cleared the error from the obd, I drove it for a day and the check engine light came on again after a bit of a rough start. I had the error code read and it came back with cvvt solenoid error. could the variable valve solenoid malfunction cause the cam sensor error? I'm just trying to figure out what to replace first.

Well sorry to say but it can be either or. I have had one that kicked my butt for days and came to find out the cam sensor was bad. Other times the solenoid is bad.

fair enough, I'm thinking I'll start with the cheaper part even though it's a bit more work to get to. I borrowed an obd from a buddy and as I clear out the errors as they come I've got 1 cam sensor error to 2 cvvt solenoid errors in about a day in a half. It occasionally feels like I've got a bit less power at times but not constantly. I'm hoping it's the first fix none the less. You've been very helpful I appreciate it. Thanks man!
