My company is transfering me to Europe for 2 years. They will be providing me with a car but I would like to have something for my wife to drive occasionally. I have a 98 V-70 with a ton of miles that I am thinking about shipping over. What will I face in a technical inspection?

From what I hear the US spec cars have stricter laws on emmisions so that shouldn't be an issue.

 

Thanks, no it is not the UK, it is Hungary. Finding good english speaking expert is difficult.

 

Try the Hungarian Embassy? They should be able to point you in the right direction. Old Eastern Bloc authorities tend to speed things up if a small 'fee' is arranged. Well, it works in like that in Bulgaria
