Default Car Alarm you guys recommend.

I own an S40 and I live in the ghettoo part of Los Angeles, my car has been broken into 2 times the past 3 months. I think I know who they are but I have no proof. I believe it is the mexican gangster that drink beer all day 4 building away from me. Since I have no proof I can not call the cops on them, they broke into my car twice and they stole my gps system, book bag and a box of cup of noodle on my back seat! I have heard of car alarm system that take snap shots of your car once the alarm goes off. Anyone heard about a system like this?

Welcome to the forum.

Never heard of this system before.

However if it doesn't exist and you get a regular alarm, most people can diable them and also they don't care if it goes off. They will take what they can and then leave.

If it's a 'smash and grab' an alarm won't deter them.

NEVER leave ANYTHING in the car EVER.

Once they realise there's nothing in the car they will move on.

All alarms have an output wire (siren) I see no reason why this can't be hooked up to a camera system of some sort.
Sounds like you have nowhere to park the car except in the street ?
How do they get in ? smash a window ?
Not possible to see/record your car from your window ?

Even if you do get photographic evidence etc, will the police do anything ?

3m have 'security film' that can be applied like tinting. Not sure how effective it is.

Maybe get some of there security glass cut to fit (ooooh expensive).

EDIT; might just be easier to move ?............

i hear the viper car alarms are nice, there are some models that will notify you on ur digital remote(shows stats on your remote for the car alarm- like adigital watch butbetter)that your car is being brokeninto. It might have a few mile radius on that feature. but its a expensive car alarm, plus its wireless start.

yea, i think its a viper alarm system that detects when someone gets close to you and your keyless entry willbeepthen if it is hit or broke into your siren will go off and your keyless entry will go nuts too. my buddy paid big money for that on his Europrojectz Audi, ill ask him what system it is next time i talk to him
