CEM issue / electrical issue
Hey all,
I've read a lot of different opinions as to what might be my problem but here it goes.
I have a 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T with about 170k miles.
Seven days ago, while driving in traffic during 90+ degree weather, the car began to thump. Then, the car alerted me that the door was open (even though it wasn't) and gave me an SRS - Airbag Warning and a Brake Failure Warning. I lost all electronics (no guages, interior lights, blinkers or windows).
Five minutes later, it went into limp mode (no acceleration).
I drove it twenty minutes more, got it to my mechanic. We put in a new alternator. Worked fine for seven more days.
Another 100 degree day this week, and the exact same failure as the first time involving the same electronics.
Any help? Could this be a bad CEM? If so, is it true that a used one cannot be reprogrammed for a new vehicle?
Thanks in advance
