Default Chemical smell after windshield replacement

My Volvo Xc 60 windshield was replaced and now there is a strong chemical/glue smell in the car. It gets worse when running the AC. They also used a cheap Chinese replacement windshield which I didn’t realize was going to be installed and I’m really upset about, but I’m pretty sure the smell is from the glue/sealant. I got sick from the smell (dizzy/lightheaded/headache) driving in it the day after the repair, so now I’m using my husbands car. It got installed on Monday so it’s been 4 days. Anyone with similar experiences? How long does it take for the smell to completely go away?

All sealants have a certain amount of outgassing in order to cure. I doubt that the windshield is the source of the odor, probably the urethane sealant that is used to hold it in.

A few days is usually enough to vent it out. I've never had one that strong that I couldn't drive the car.

I hope only a few more days is necessary for the smell to go away. I’m sensitive to chemicals but my husband can smell it as well and he isn’t sensitive. It isn’t causing him any symptoms so he is driving my car for now. Praying this isn’t going to be a long term thing..

Yes it did completely go away after 3 months , the car is kept outside so the heat helps with off gassing
