Hello everyone,


Can anyone tell me if and when Collision Avoidance Systems became available on Volvos? Is there anything I can look for in a used model to tell me if it is has a CAV?


Basically, I am hoping to become a proud Volvo owner in the near future. However, I know I will be buying used and this will be our family's only vehicle for a few years so I am looking at a small crossover.


That being said, I will also have 2 new drivers in the near future: my wife whom gave up on learning to drive after an accident 14 years ago and my son whom will get his driving permit in 1 year.


Then there is the fact that we were involved in a bad accident last year while I was driving. That being said, I know a Collision Avoidance system isn't the ultimate answer but I would like a vehicle with this option.
