Thumbs up Dodged a smelly bullet

Well, I narrowly avoided skunkicide last night. One of the little black critters was shuffling across the road and froze in my lane just about when I realized he was there - which was maybe 2 car lengths away and 35mph... an instinctive stab of the forearm thrust me into the oncoming lane (no traffic), and saved both his carcass and my nostrils.

The car actually was composed through that - credit to the IPD swaybars and new front end on the old Swede.

Nice job of driving. It beats having to wash yourself and the S70 in tomato juice (old wives tale says tomato juice is good way to get rid of skunk smell).

I have to say I was pleased as punch with how the car responded - 35mph isn't that fast, but the lane change was just an abrupt reflex, and the car stayed flat and the tires never broke traction - it acted like it was made to do that. :-)
