Two propellers lost in two weeks with broken shafts any one any ideas as to why,
this is on my father-in-law’s boat with twin Volvo around 400 hp each motor

Yeah, you are definitely on the wrong forum.
In 13 years, yours is the first boat question I've seen here. You may have noticed the fact that every sub-form here is about a car model, that's generally a clue.
From personal experience after being married 47 years, don't work on your father-in-laws stuff. Never turns out good, and on the outside chance it would, he won't be appreciative. And your wife will side with him, every time.

Boating questions can go in the Penta forum. Generally its best to start a new thread vs commenting on a seven year old post with your own topic.
Start by using the Forums drop down on the top tool bar, select your target forum (Penta is listed under Volvo Vehicles).
Once you are in the forum of choice you will see a "new thread" in the upper right corner.
