Hi there

I have a Volvo S80 2.5T 2007 model that has ceased the engine
I would like to know if it is possible to replace it with the 2.4 D/D5 engine, and if so, what modifications will be needed.

Anything is possible if you have enough money. It would not be practical though.

 

If you could find a wrecked vehicle which to pull the engine from your task would be easier. At the very least, you would need the engine and transmission assembly on the sub-frame. Since both vehicles were built in the same factory when new, I would guess the mounting points on the body are there but this would be no easy job. You would also need the wiring harness and various other bits that are unknown at this time so it would depend on how motivated you are. Not impossible but not easy either.
