hi guys ive just changed my s60,2001 ex police auto to manual IM IN NEED OF SOME HELP,, ive got the car to start of the key, iv,e removed the prnd,selceter of the gear box if i remove the gearbox ecu it don,t start, i know it picks up the signal to engage start of the selecter what im asking if any one knows the plug pins outs to cross over as its making the mill light come on and the trans service light to come on. and it goes in to limp mode wont rev above 4.000/grand/// ive read the cods and nothing from the engine ecu, can any one help me pls,, ive read that some one as done a volvo850 before,,i am a mechanic but if some one can save me alot of time then pls help, allso i have a expolice v70 for spares 03 plate im in leicester,im willing to trade parts of the other one or if some one can come give me a hand to sort it cheers

 

I am creating a pretty thorough auto to manual swap guide (80% finished) it will be up in a day or so. It will talk about which wires to ground in order to start the car as well as pretty much everything else involved. many pictures. One thing to keep in mind is that if you do not get the ECU switched over to a manual "tune" it will always have the 4k rev limiter. However you should be able to start the car without the TCU if you grounded right. If you don't want to wait, check out the wiring diagram for these cars. I remember that only one wire needed to be grounded. Also you need to splice the communication wires somehow. These are green and white.
