have a 2001 Volvo v70 xc engine system service urgent light came on with cruse control in operation at the bottom of a hill as it was asking for more power stumbled and went into limp mode cycled key off on came out of limp mode light still on, replace fuel filter didn't help now cruse doesn't work no cruse light on dash was told possibly fuel pump but doesn't explain no cruse issue. any help would be great beanmotorsports@hotmail.com or reply hear

 

If you pull codes then that will help a lot

 

Not sure on the 70s but my 850 which should be very similar used to drop the cruise function and it turned out it was a bad ignition switch. Car would start and run fine but cruise would drop out occasionally.
If it happens again try to gently move the key just a bit forward or backward in the run position and see if anything changes.
