Extreme Throttle Lag

Extreme Throttle Lag
Hello All. I just bought a 2005 Volvo V70 2.5 N/A and It runs fine, except for a strange problem. When I step on the gas pedal, the car will start to accelerate for about half of a second, then go dead as if I just released the gas pedal for about 2 seconds and then runs fine again.
It does that at any given speed or rpm. If let's say I'm on the highway and need to pass a car, it will take the same time to start accelerating. When driving at a stable speed, the car runs fine.
I'm thinking it must be a throttle body related issue but I wonder if it's a common problem. I did a search on this forum and didn't find anything that looked like this.
The check engine light is on and I have 2 messages in the display control that states: Check Engine Block and another one that looks like it also.
I ordered an OBD reader online and should get it in 15 to 30 days so I'll probably know for sure by then.
But has anyone seen this issue?

Can't think of anything else that would cause this problem. The drive-by-wire system is prone to wear, commonly known as an issue, so it makes the most sense it would be the place to start. Especially since you have a warning light.
I'm also assuming that the car never actually dies or anything. It just doesn't accelerate as intended. If the engine stumbles and dies or runs rough, that is a different issue.

Well I got my ELM 327 OBD reader for like 14$ on Amazon and got the codes out.
Besides some known issues (speed sensor fault, the speedometer reads the speed fine but the odometer and electronic speed reads 0), I also got a code that stated: Defective Intake Solenoid Valve actuator or something like that. I cleared the code and the car as been running fine ever since. I drove around 500 km and I'm waiting for the problem to come back but up to know the car is running like a charm.
