Default FCP Groton let me down this time

I got a heater core from them back in the winter of 2010-2011, Mr. Rivera contacted me three weeks later to say they had sent me the wrong part. That was after installing the new one. I was just to busy at that time to deal with it and it didn't seem to be leaking immediately. It did start to leak heavily towards the end of last winter. I contacted FCP today to see if they would send me another one and they said that since I had not purchased warranty I was SOL. Good company but just like others out there, once they become big they don't care about the little guys.

No, if you didn't like the part, you should have returned it within 30 days. I wouldn't let you exchange a part after you used it for a year...

^^^ Agreed, a warranty should cover manufacturing defects, not wear and tear or installation issues. They already offered to replace that core for you, but when you told them the current core was working fine and you wanted to keep it, you took over responsibility for the part.

FCP is awesome, IMHO it's not cool to call them out on something that they already offered to take care of, and you turned them down.

That's completely reasonable. I mean how many companies will call you weeks later because they made a mistake, one which you didn't even realize, and offer to make it right?

I have done a lot of business with FCP (top 500 customer here :P) and the only time they let me down was on my most recent purchase, a front suspension kit for my E30. The complete tie rods did not come with the (non reusable) lock plates.

I emailed them, mostly just to let them know so they could at least put up a disclaimer about what is not included....and they offered to sell me the plates at $1.35 each. Haha, nah I already ordered them (and some other stuff they didn't have) from Pelican.
