Default Fender Liner, Genuine Parts?

I would like to replace the passenger front fender liner on my 97 850 as economically as possible. My mechanic said he could take care of it, but I am afraid it may be more complicated than it seems. Does it need to be cut to fit? Does anyone have experience with this?

Also, I need a mud flap. The local Volvo dealer told me that at some point, these were changed to a cheaper plastic. How will I know what I am getting if I order one? Will it match the others, which are originals? He couldn't tell me.

Is there a difference between OEM and genuine parts?

Thanks,

The difference between the two is the PRICE…OEM or Original Equipment Manufacturer part has the original manufacturer's branding on it rather than a Volvo logo. An example is injection-system parts that is made by Bosch but ones made for Volvo will have a Volvo logo, ones made for Mercedes will have a Mercedes 3-point-star logo.. If you can crack the Volvo parts-codes you can get the same parts from a Bosch dealer with a Bosch logo on them, generally at a much lower price. Same goes for relay/switches, etc..
