Two days ago, I was driving my 1986240 DL andout of nowhere,I heard a horrible grinding mechanichal noise. It did it three more times that day (all roughly in2 second intervals) before that evening, when it started constantly making that noise.Itstill continues to.I concluded that it was the starter motor. After replacingitearlier this evening, it started better than it usually does, but it still made the damn grinding noise. What I am thinking is that the starter motor is engagingoutto start the car, but will not retract back and grinds on the flywheel, when the engine starts.

I'm wondering if anybody has ever heardof this happening beforeandknows what I'm gonna have to do to fix it.
