hard start or no start cold

hard start or no start cold
my 2007 XC70 has a very hard time starting when temps are below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. It cranks but does not fire and the tack jumps all over the place. Not fuel pressure related, tested and fine. Suspect crank sensor/starter/flywheel issue confusing crank sensor? Cold temps cause increased crank speed? Any suggestions before I spend a heap of money?
