Headrest Removal
BACKGROUND PROBLEM
My V70 wagon is for cargo, not passengers. The rear seat bottoms came out straightaway. Have been putting up the with head rests poking down into the foot area, taking up space. Enough.
QUESTION
Is there a user-friendly way of removing these? Don’t care if it’s irrevocable. Or am I looking at power tools cutting through the mounting pylons? (metal dust everywhere!)
DISCLAIMER
Seems to be some website malfunction preventing paging through past posts, unable to check if this has already been addressed.

Yes they can be removed. What year car do you have?
On the pre '01 cars, you have to remove the trim at the top of the seat, then pull out a retainer clip (hair pin style) to get them to lift the rest of the way out.

Thanks. Lovely to hear. It’s a 2001.
I actually imagined a scenario where I would pay an upholsterer to grant me access to the seat backs.
So post-2001 there may be a solution without this step?
