Default How long will my car last? 01 volvo c70 195,000

I have a 2001 Volvo c70 with 195,000 miles on it. I absolutely love my car. The thing is I drive 60-80 miles a day for work and it seems like my repair and maintenance bill on Sonya (thats right) averages out to like 400 bucks a month. Right now I have a decision to face due to a thousand dollar suspension problem. Is it time to put this car out to pasture and get something more generic and easy to fix/ maintain if I'm going to run it into the ground as my job requires or should I breathe life back into Sonya. How much longer can I expect this car to last if I do fix it?

$400 a month, wow. Get rid of that dog. $2,200 a year is the most you should be spending for maintenance/repairs.

Much as I hate to see anyone give up on a Volvo I would concur. 4800 bucks a year is pretty tough to swallow. 15 to 20 grand will get you a newer car with well under 100k miles. Cost would be comparable to what you are shelling out now and at that mileage the specter of a really big bill is always there.

$400 a month is pretty expensive... maybe if you don't want to part with the car, you could find a cheaper place to service it?
Then again, you might be better off getting something that uses less petrol and is cheaper to run etc...
