Is Hub Diameter important on wheels?
I'm looking for some steel wheels for some new Winter tires and have found many with the right bolt pattern, but when i asked the garage to see if they would fit they told me that they don't, even though they were both 5-108.
I was wondering if the hub diameter is important?. Does the wheel have to fit snuggly onto the hub centre? or as long as the hole in the wheel is larger than the hub centre the wheel is considered to fit?
I've done quite a lot of searching and can't find an exact answer.
I have an '05 v70 and am hoping that some second hand wheels from an '05 s40 will fit my car.
Thanks

It is pretty important they might not be 100% centered and cause a vibration. Also they might work the lugs loose.
But they sell hubcentric rings to take up the space to make them fit tight.
