My car is an automatic Volvo and has been jumping when going from the equivalent of first to second gear while driving and sometimes when switching from drive into reverse. I have once before had them change a valve body I believe it was but it still seems to be a problem. Any thoughts? PLease help!

I experienced hard shifting (what you describe as jumping?) in our '05XC90 when the trans went from 2nd to 3rd only. The dealer downloaded new shift codes and that took care of it.

It is a 2000 automatic volvo S70, w/ front wheel drive. The jumping is occurring when switching between the equivalent of 1st & 2nd gears as well as occassionally occurring when shifting between drive and reverse. Hopefully this is a more helpful description of the problem??? Do you think resetting the shift code is possibly the answer still?
