My wife washed out key fob. I replaced the battery but it still doesn't work. Volvo wants $600 to replace it. Is there any other route?

2019 s60. I'm new to the forum. I see that there are lots of threads on how expensive volvo key fobs are. What a racket. I wish there was such a thing as a repair after water damage, but it appears there isn't.
