Replacement Fob
When you purchase a remote the car has to be programmed to accept the signal from the new remote.
The process - buy a new remote - then anyone with a VIDA subscription can purchase a download that tells the CEM to accept the signal from the new remote. You must have the code on the packaging the remote comes in to enter during the "programming" process. In other words the used remotes you find on ebay are worthless without the code that's on the bag they were purchased in.
The usual person with a VIDA subscription is a Volvo dealer. You may find an independent that uses a VIDA subscription as needed who also might pool customers needing downloads to share in the short term subscription costs to save a few dollars. Or you can perform the download yourself if you have a compatible DICE unit.
