Default Long Term Storage

I have a 2008 XC90 and in Dec 2010 I am planning to go out of the country for a year. I love the car, dont want to sell it and planning to store it. I have 2 options. 1) leave the car with my in-laws or 2) store the car. If I decided to leave it with the family, how often should it be started/driven around? If I decided to store it, what prep steps do I need to take? Does anyone know of an articles on line I can read? Thanks

I guess you should google it. If you are going out of town for more than 2 years get rid of the thing. If you store it, it would be best kept in a heated garage. If family will keep it have them drive it two days per month, all day long.

Better yet, bring it to me and I'll drive it for you. You don't want something to happen to it with your family and you get mad at them forever. If I mess it up and you hate me no big deal.
