look at these plugs!!!
Hi guys, fabs here..well i managed to change the spark plugs on my 2006 V70. to be honest it wasn't that tough, i was a little worried about it but i did it! took me almost an hour actually, next time it should go quicker.
I took some pics of the plugs that where there. My car has 64 000km on the clock. The origional plugs should have been changed at 48 000km. so, looking at the pics, do you thing they where changed out 16 000km ago?

They look pretty clean. Can't really tell from that far away, need to be close ups of the tips. And that's what the recommended time is, it's not like if they go longer than 48k kms they're dead. If they car has been taken care of, not beaten on, etc. they could last a really long time.
Gilber...for the tips, compared to the new ones, seemed to have been a little consumed. On the new ones, it's like a cone and then the little pointy tip, on the old ones the little tip was pretty much worn out. The ceramic part the bigger bottom end on the old plugs where all rusted. There seems to have been quite a bit of rust on the plug..

I wanted to change them...The dealer mentioned that they should be changed every 48000km. i'm at 64k....and had doubt's that the original owner changed them, so i did it myself.
They where a little brown, mostly (not on all though) around the bottom part of the ceramic section. i even saw a few drops here and there on the back of coil packs..maybe some oil spilt when trying to refill engine?
anyways i'm just happy i managed to change them out, more piece of mind...should they be changed out at a higher milage? is 48k too soon? just going by what volvo said..
