Looking at buying an s60R...few ?s
as the title says im lookin at the 06-07 s60R Automatic. i currently own a chrysler 300 V6 and love the car for several reasons. i like the sport sedan class and with my 300 it was comfortable and roomy, had decent power and the main reason is its unique looks and customization possibilities. now to the volvo, i am looking to have a few questions answered and overall opinion of the car. how is the cars power, handling, ride comfort, and reliability(expensive fixes?)? As far as customization, it seems there isnt a uniqueness to them when they are customized. 300s are like a canvas you make of em wat you want aesthetically. Am i mistakin about the volvo? it seems this may be due to a lack of variety. Is this true also? aftermarket parts seemed pricey also ($300 for a winglet...rly!?)
For comparing, look at production runs between the two. The volvo is much lower, fewer of them out there. So aftermarket parts are manufactured accordingly. Having owned a wide range of foreign vehicles, my take is this. European sedans including volvo have a much more "solid" feel with the road. Have not found the same to be true with japanese or domestics. Especially when you get to higher mileages. No right or wrong, just what you are looking for.
got ya and thats what i thought just wanted to make sure. still like some more opinions too. also it will be my first turboed car. what is modding like? can i just slap on downpipe, exhaust, etc with out having to do a lot of tuning or is everything pretty extensive?
Haven't tried modding myself, but definate volvo "turbo brick" culture out there for that. The long standing buzz has been that they can be some pretty fast sleds. All turbos are known for mod potential, but not a lot of european turbo cars out there.
