Media Format Error

Media Format Error
Our RSE is acting odd.
When you put a DVD into the system we get an error message:
Media Format Error.
Tried several DVD's and all produced the same message. They are not Blue Ray or anything special. There is no Region option in any of the menu's.
Anyone have any suggestions? I removed the counsel cover on the chance there was a Region switch on the player itself, not expecting one and there was not one. The system is the factory system found in the XC90. Made in Spain, system 8000.

Just tested the AUX RCA jacks with a i-pod and they still work so we can go that route until we can figure out the Media error. My guess is that since the unit was manufactured in Spain somehow it has reverted to that format/default format.
