Default Is my new Brembo rear rotor defective? (1992 245 DL)

I was changing out my rear pads and rotors today and noticed an irregularitiy on on one of the Brembo rotors.

One of the rotors has two 4 or 5 millimeter diameter recesses about 1 or 2 millimeters deep on the outside disc surface. They are about 180 degrees apart.

I bought them from Groton so I can't help but think they looked them over but....

Thanks in advance.

how old are they and how long have they been on the car........I would email them and its a manufacturers defect, then they should be able to help you. Now if they have been on the car a while, then that might be a tough situation.

If it is just like a circle in the middle of the rotor that is normal it is a wear indicator.
When the circle is gone the rotors are below Min. spec and need to be replaced.

It is a newer thing you might have gotten older stock on the other ones.

It kind of looks like someone took a drill bit and drilled a hole shallow right?
If so then yes it is normal.

I just came across this thread.

Cosmetically this is normal. I'm sure the rotor will perform just as well.
