I need to charge a 12 volt battery with solar and wind power?
im trying to do a project with electrolysis and i need to find out how to charge a 12volt battery with a windmill and a solar panel. The solar panel charges a large battery that ex-puts in A/V, USB AND 12v car lighter. And the Windmill has a motor that can ex-put from a stripped red and black wire. I need something that can deal with the different ex-puts that can put it into a 12volt battery.

 

I have a full off grid solar system. Long story short by 8pm my solar would go into alarm and automatic generator would kick and and charge battery bank. Well this was happening a lot and propane is expensive so I decided to add a 400watt windmill to supplement. The issue I’m having is I bought a whole kit with a separate controller ,dump load , break etc. both my systems are 48v. Battery back is 12 batteries. Issue is after an hour the charge controller for the turbine was very hot and sucking the charge from the battery bank? Is my wire to the batteries done wrong? Company says it’s plug and play just go right to bank. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
