Default Need your suggestions please!!

I drive a 1994 Volvo 850, it has 300,000 miles and have had almost no problems. I need a new car, what Volvo model will give me the same great service,? I have heard the newer Volvos are not as good as the older ones. I would like your imput on this , am looking at at 05 S40 T or a S60 AWD? Thanks for your time!!

Take a look in S40/60 columns; too many issues that require dealer intervention for my taste... e.g. $300 for a key copy! gimmee a break!

Agree with what rspi was inferring; i steer away from any volvo '99 MY or newer. Too many modules that need to programmed by the dealer, for $$$ of course.

If it were me, I would rebuild/restore the 850, or better yet, find the latest good condition and low mileage (up through '98 MY) 850 or S70 you can find and snap it up. They just don't make 'em like this anymore...

My $0.02 anyway.

I understand i work for bmw. I own a 05 s40, but im also a tech so i dont see it that way. Even so, i say get a manual and do your own work and only use dealer if absolutely needed. Use good aftermarket parts. Keep it maintained. As far the modules well, it all euro cars are like that, asians arent far behind and american is getting into it. That is the future. You sacrifice form and function staying behind. Have fun with your resto job at least it at end of the dy u can be satified with your own work.
