Hello Volvo Community,

Can anyone recommend a good and trustworthy Volvo mechanic in the Milwaukee WI area?

As you may appreciate, in the past I've been disappointed with the outcome of work done at the dealer. Like many of you, I'd prefer to do as much maintenance and repair on my own. I've learned to troubleshoot, consult with others, review shop manuals and Volvo forums. I've found that I can then buy needed parts and tools if needed and do the work myself and still save money. I'd prefer to never have to take my '91 or '93 to the shop.

Over the years I've had the pleasure to own a 1979 Volvo 264 GL (5 speed manual), a 1981 Diesel (automatic), 1976 Volvo 245 wagon (manual), a 1992 Volvo 240 sedan (automatic). The 240 series has been good medicine and a joy to keep running at peak performance.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks much.
