I keep having this message come up on my Volvo s60i that says “oil filter low add1quart” I’ve taken to 2 volvo dealership. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so what did you have to do? I was told I may have to take my engine apart.

 

Is it low? Did you add a quart? Does your car have a dipstick? If not and it is full (the only way to tell with a bad oil level sensor is to drain the oil and measure what comes out) - The sensor is bolted to the bottom of the pan and could be bad, or you are a quart low on oil. When was the oil changed last, who did it and did they put in the correct amount?
