Old Volvo + Road Trip? Advice
Hi,
I have a 1990 Volvo 740. I'm planning on taking a road trip this summer (3500 miles altogether). I will be driving through some pretty remote areas of the country with little cell phone service, and I'd really hate to have my car break down in one of those areas. The car, however, only has roughly 70k miles and I have never had any major problems with it.
Does anyone have any advice on taking these kinds of cars on long road trips? Maybe some good things to bring (e.g. backup parts, etc.)? Some things to check periodically along the way? Anything at all would be very helpful.
Thanks!

FEAR NOT. I use to take my '87 740 GLE cross country all the time. Even with over 390,000 miles on it. Make sure your coolant hoses are good, timing belt not past due, and you have a good battery and press on.
