I ran a search for this problem, but came up empty on the exact issue, so here goes:

I programmed my PCC without any issues at all. I got the mirrors and seat to glide into place like they're supposed to when I open the door and the car unlocks when I pull the handle. However, when I went through the same procedure (set, get out, lock car, unlock car, open door,) with my wife's PCC, the settings do not take. She has to manually press the memory button on the seat for her seat and mirrors to move.

Also, the car will unlock using the unlock button for her, but it won't unlock when she just pulls the handle like it does when I walk up to the car with my PCC in my pocket.

Her PCC still has the regular functions (lock/unlock, tailgate, panic, info, etc.) it's just the features associated with the automatic communication with the car, I think. Am I forgetting to do something perhaps? Is there something I need to do when programming a second PCC?

Trouble shooting I have already thought of:
~going through the set-up many times.
~ensuring that MY PCC is in the house when I program hers.
~explaining to my wife that this is just God's way of telling us that I'm meant to drive the good car and she's meant to drive the crappy other car.

None of those three worked.

 

Update: The dealership came by yesterday and picked up the car from my office. It turns out the car was the issue, not the key fob, as I assumed. They tried to reprogram the fob but came up empty. According to the invoice, they ran diagnostics for faults, tried to remove then reinstall the keys, then called a hotline for help when nothing worked. They "performed total can and total most sw upgrades." This seemed to do the trick. They had the car delivered back to me in a manner of hours, and now I have two working key fobs.
