What is that thing for?

It's the little plastic tab that sticks out on the inside of the windshield on the drivers side. I have one on my S70, my friend has one on his 850.

I use it to stick tickets in at parking garages, but what the heck was it put there for? Thanks!

 

Exactly what you use it for -- parking stub/ticket holder. The description is in the owner's manual with the picture of "storage areas" --- at least in my wife's V70.
